If the app has existing installations, it will enter a 30-day grace period, and its status changes to Scheduled deletion. During the grace period, organizations that have already installed the app will continue to have full access to it.

As the app creator, make sure you have the necessary arrangements in place to support these customers during the transition. If this is a paid app, contact your customers about canceling their subscriptions.

Public Marketplace apps with no existing installations do not enter a 30-day grace period when deleted.

How it works

• Every team member has 1 upvote per idea.

• Organizations can submit up to 50 ideas. Ideas count against the organization you are logged in to when submitting.

• Ideas can be edited or deleted only before the first upvote.

• Ideas can be shared by link, searched by keyword, and sorted by most recent or top voted.

Submit your first idea in the Cloud Portal > Marketplace > Share your ideas.

If an app is suspended, it is immediately removed from the Marketplace, and it stops working in all organizations that previously installed it. The app developer is notified so they can address the issues and reinstate the app in the Marketplace. When reinstated, organizations that want to continue using the app need to manually install it again.  

The most effective way to prevent app suspension is to follow best practices for secure data handling and ensure that your Marketplace app complies with the Sitecore security checklist. These requirements help all public Marketplace apps meet high standards for security, privacy, and transparency.

What you can build

For example, you can develop a chat interface where marketers can interact with an LLM. When the marketer sends a prompt, the LLM can call the tools available in the Marketer MCP, such as create_page and update_content. This enables marketers to use natural language to create pages, update content, manage components and assets, create personalization variants, and more.

How to integrate the Marketer MCP

1. Ensure you have a full-stack Marketplace app with custom authorization so your app can make server-side API requests to the Marketer MCP.

2. Check that your app has access to the SitecoreAI APIs.

3. When adding the Marketer MCP functionality, send a bearer token and a Context ID in the request header of every chat message from the client to the server. This ensures that when the Marketer MCP client receives the required headers on the server, the MCP tools can be securely invoked.

What you can achieve with the Brand Review REST API

The Brand Review API lets you add AI-powered content evaluation features to your Marketplace app, helping content authors prepare on-brand texts, images, and other media. The API evaluates whether input content and assets comply with the guidelines defined in a brand kit.

For example, you can develop a grammar checker feature for your Marketplace app's Page builder extension point. When a content author updates the page content, your app can call the API to evaluate the content. The content author can view the evaluation results directly in your app, which helps make the content consistent with the writing style and tone defined by your brand.

Start developing brand review capabilities

You can start development in two steps:

1. In Cloud Portal > App studio, open your app's configuration page, and in the API access section, enable the AI skills APIs for your app.
   Note: In every organization that uses your app, an admin or owner will need to Update the app in My apps for the API access changes to take effect.

2. Update your Marketplace application code.

   1. Install and initialize the Markeplace SDK's new ai package, which is required for interactions with AI skills APIs.

   2. Make a request from your Marketplace app to the Brand Review API.

After making your first request, you can also complete a more advanced walkthrough that sends the current page content for review, and explore other example requests for evaluating images and documents.

Note: This feature is being rolled out in phases. It may not be available in your organization yet, but will appear once your environment receives the update.

Sitecore Marketplace apps with access to the SitecoreAI APIs can now interact with the new Search Configuration REST API.

The Search Configuration REST API lets you retrieve the configuration for your SitecoreAI search sources. This configuration defines how content items are indexed and made searchable. For example, which fields you can search against, which fields you can use for filtering, and what data will be returned in search results.

Marketplace SDK version 0.4

Version 0.4 of the Marketplace SDK introduces the following changes:

• Support for the Search Configuration REST API. See how to make a request to this API.

• New namespaces:

  • xmc.sites for all queries and mutations related to the SitecoreAI Sites REST API.

  • xmc.pages for all queries and mutations related to the SitecoreAI Pages REST API.

• Deprecated namespaces:

  • xmc.xmapps is now deprecated and will be removed from the SDK in a future release. Use the new xmc.sites and xmc.pages namespaces instead.

• Data usage disclosure - describe how the app collects, stores, and processes data.

• AI usage disclosure - if the app uses AI or machine learning in any capacity, describe how the app uses artificial intelligence and complies with relevant regulations.

• Sitecore security checklist - ensure the app complies with the Sitecore security requirements.

After publishing the app, the disclosures appear in the public Marketplace to help users understand how their data is handled.

These requirements ensure that all public Marketplace apps meet high standards for security, privacy, and transparency, protecting both Sitecore organizations and end users.

If you already have a public app

The new security requirements also apply to Marketplace apps that are already published or submitted for approval. If you have such an app, go to its configuration page in App studio to add the necessary disclosures and confirm compliance with the Sitecore security checklist.

Permissions

• Opening pop-ups and in-app links.

• Copy content to the user's clipboard.

• Reading content from the user's clipboard.

You can enable these permissions during app configuration in App studio, on the Overview tab. Enabled permissions are listed when installing an app.

If permissions change for an app that's already installed in an organization, an admin or owner needs to update the app in My apps for the changes to take effect.

New event subscriptions

Version 0.3 of the Marketplace SDK client package lets you subscribe to page layout and field layout changes. These subscriptions let your Marketplace app react when, for example, the user of the SitecoreAI Page builder adds or moves a page component, or edits a field.

With public apps, you can now share your Marketplace apps with all Sitecore organizations, making them discoverable in the public Marketplace. Whether you're building AI-powered tools, content management extensions, or custom integrations, public apps let you contribute to the Sitecore ecosystem and reach every Sitecore customer.

Sitecore organizations can:

• Discover apps built by Sitecore and trusted partners - Browse the public Marketplace to find ready-to-use apps built by Sitecore and its trusted partners. Search, filter, and sort apps by category, creator, or financial model. View detailed app information including descriptions, screenshots, developer profiles, and links to privacy policies and terms and conditions.

App developers can:

• Create apps for all Sitecore organizations - build Marketplace applications that extend and customize Sitecore for the entire Sitecore community. Unlike custom apps that are limited to specific organizations, public apps are listed in the public Marketplace where all Sitecore organizations can discover and install them.

• Submit your app for Sitecore approval - public apps undergo technical, design, security, and business review by Sitecore to ensure quality and security for all users. Prepare your code repository with required documentation, complete your developer profile, and submit your app for approval. Once approved, you can publish your app and make it available to the entire Sitecore community.

• Build your developer profile - create a developer profile to introduce yourself or your company to the Sitecore community. Add your name or company name, logo, business summary, website, social media links, and contact information. Your profile increases transparency and trust, and showcases all your public apps in one place.
