Improvements to the GetLocalizedUrl Method  We’ve optimized the GetLocalizedUrl method in the LocalizableLink provider with the following improvements: <ul><li>Removed redundant code and an unnecessary processor.  </li></ul><ul><li>Prevented the creation of unused objects that that were consuming system resources. </li></ul>These changes result in a leaner and more resource-efficient application.   Resolved issues<ul><li>Previously, circular dependencies in data templates (Such as template A inheriting from template B, and template B inheriting from template A, either directly or indirectly) would cause an exception and crash the Content Management instance. Now, the system logs a prominent error message whenever a circular dependency is detected, allowing you to troubleshoot the issue and maintain system integrity. </li><li>Preview GraphQL was returning incorrect layout JSON in ‘rendered&apos; fields when the response contained multiple instances of those fields, such as in an item’s ‘children’ collection. The layout components are now resolved correctly, regardless of how many ‘rendering’ entries are returned. </li><li>Resolved an issue where rendering properties did not appear as expected on the right side panel in Pages for local instances.</li></ul>

XM Cloud gets a new, simplified interface to improve access to tools, as well as navigation between projects and environments.  A new navigation header to access the main tools: <ul><li>On the home page of XM Cloud, we have introduced a navigation header to access all XM Cloud tools.  </li></ul><ul><li>To open Pages, click on a site thumbnail or use the Page builder button in the navigation header. From Pages, a new Pocket navigation menu lets you quickly access the other tools. </li></ul><ul><li>You can access the Forms and Components builders under the Design library menu. </li></ul><ul><li>Access Media library, Content Editor, and Explorer from the Content menu. </li></ul><ul><li>All other tools are immediately available in the left-hand pane of Settings, or from the Sitecore Desktop. </li></ul> Navigate around your XM Cloud organization, projects and environments:  <ul><li>On the XM Cloud homepage, the Switcher helps you switch project, environment, or organization.  It can also redirect you to the Sitecore Cloud portal. </li></ul><ul><li>On our builder tools, a new field in the top header lets you know in which project and environment you are currently working. From Pages, this field also lets you navigate easily to other projects or environments from the same organization. </li></ul>

XM Cloud gets new navigation menus so you can get where you need to be in just a click

XM Cloud Forms is excited to introduce the following new <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/users/xm-cloud/prefill-fields-values.html">features</a>:<ul><li>You can now populate values and labels automatically for select, multi select, radio button, and checkbox field items using data stored as a JSON array that is accessible via a URL. For example, you might want to add a list of checkboxes representing various countries to your form. By using a JSON array containing the country data, you can easily create the check box labels with just a couple of clicks. </li><li> You can also now specify field data using query parameters in the URL of the page that includes the form. For example, a customer is browsing products on a website and they want to request information for a specific product by filling out a form. To save the customer time, Forms can automatically complete any field values related to the selected product, meaning the customer only has to enter information that is unique to their query.  </li></ul>Responding to customers request, we have added the following notes in the documentation: <ul><li>To create and edit forms, you need the <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" class="Hyperlink SCXW10236263 BCX0" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/developers/xm-cloud/the-security-roles.html">Admin</a> role for your organization. Contact your system administrator to <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" class="Hyperlink SCXW10236263 BCX0" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/developers/xm-cloud/assign-access-rights-to-a-security-account.html">request the access rights</a> as needed. </li></ul><ul><li>If you experience issues with Forms, contact your system administrator to ensure that SITECORE_EDGE_CONTEXT_ID is set as environment variable in your front-end application, for example Vercel. </li></ul>

Use external data sources or URL parameters to autocomplete field values in Forms 

The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://api-docs.sitecore.com/xmc/xm-apps-api">Sitecore XM Apps REST API</a> documentation for managing collections, sites, analytics, and languages is now available. This documentation features an interface that enables authenticated users to send requests directly to their environment. This docs-as-code approach is compatible with staging, production, and other environments.  The 34 endpoints of this REST API let you create, retrieve, update, and delete collections, sites, analytics identifiers, and languages. It lets you complete end-to-end site administration flows using APIs. In the console, you can send live requests using the interactive Try-it-now functionality, and you can download the OpenAPI definition file.

Resolved issues:<ul><li>All components on a page are now correctly duplicated when that page is duplicated. Previously, only components added in “<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/users/xm-cloud/edit-a-page.html">shared layout</a>” mode were duplicated. </li><li>When you define an internal link in the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/users/xm-cloud/add-rich-text-to-a-page.html">CKEditor</a> rich text editor within Pages, the link now uses the page’s ID instead of its relative path, ensuring the link won’t break if the page is moved or renamed. </li><li><a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/users/xm-cloud/add-a-media-file-to-a-page.html">Media files</a> with a hyphen in their filename now appear in search results as expected. </li><li>For environments using JSS 22.1 or above, empty <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://doc.sitecore.com/xmc/en/users/xm-cloud/add-a-link-to-a-page.html">link</a> fields containing placeholder text will no longer break the editing functionality in Pages. </li></ul>

The release of JSS 21.6 and JSS 22.1 brought great new features. In this video, Sebastian Winter (Technical Product Marketer at Sitecore) goes through the steps of updating the Company solution to the JSS Version 22.1.3 to benefit from the newly introduced Context ID that simplifies hosting and local setup. Also XM Cloud Forms is now enabled to be used in XM Cloud Pages along with the the "Bring Your Own Component" (BYOC) feature of the Component Builder. Furthermore, the performance of XM Cloud Pages has been improved significantly. In addition to that you can now connect your local development to test in XM Cloud Pages in a simplified developer experience.

XM Cloud Tutorials  - What's new in JSS 21.6 and JSS 22.1? #11

XM Cloud Sites - What's new? (September 2024)

You started your implementation in a private github repo to try things out or run a “Prove of Concept” and then your project became the starting point of a client implementation. Now you want to transfer your code into the clients GitHub account, ideally with keeping branch history.
