As <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://developers.sitecore.com/changelog/xm-cloud/07112024/action-required%3a-prepare-for-default-url-protocol-changes--">communicated on November 7, 2024</a>, we have now rolled out a change to the default URL protocol:Default URL scheme and external portThe default URL scheme and external port has changed for all sites. If values are not defined in the site configuration s<code>itecore/content/&lt;site collection&gt;/&lt;site&gt;/Settings/Site Grouping/&lt;site&gt;</code>, these will be the default values:<ul><li>Scheme – https</li><li>External Port – 443</li></ul>The default definitions are in effect only if you haven’t explicitly defined a setting for these fields.urlBuilder settings now applyWhen defining URL builder options on the link provider level, the default values for unspecified options will be taken from the <code>itemUrlBuilder</code> and <code>mediaUrlBuilder</code> configurations. This might affect your implementation if you’ve previously made changes to the configuration of the <code>itemUrlBuilder</code>, <code>mediaUrlBuilder</code> or <code>urlBuilder</code> nodes.

We’ve improved the layout and behavior of the page settings pane: <ul><li>The pane now stays open until you manually close it, even after you press Enter to save a change. </li></ul><ul><li>The page’s details section is now at the bottom of the pane. </li></ul><ul><li>All accordions are collapsed by default, keeping the pane compact until you expand relevant sections. </li></ul>  Resolved issue: <ul><li>Users will now see the correct media files in their Pages media library, even if they haven’t updated their XM Cloud base image. </li></ul>

The XM Cloud base image 1.6.437 has gone live with the following improvements:<ul><li>The media cache is no longer populated by indexing operations, to prevent situations where the instance might run out of disk space during an index rebuild.</li><li>Content in XM Cloud applications is now also indexed and searchable in languages that are not part of the default Solr schema.</li><li>We&apos;ve separated the memory cache into different databases, resulting in less frequent memory allocations and improved performance.</li></ul>
