Introducing Multi-level Business Operations

We’re happy to announce that Multi-level Business Operations, already available in Discover, are now also supported in Sitecore Search. This enables search experiences such as buy online, pick-up in store (BOPIS).

Multi-level business operations let you present search results with dynamic values based on the context of the customer who performed the search. For example, you can display a different price or inventory level depending on which store the customer is shopping with. This feature is often used on commerce sites with BOPIS functionality, or in B2B commerce solutions that support contracted pricing and catalogs for their buyers.

Key features:

  • Configure your multi-level business operations settings within the Search UI.

  • Define your business model with one or two levels. In a single-level model, attribute values are defined and returned based on a single context entity, such as Store. In two-level models, these values are based on a combination of two context entities, such as Store and Group

  • Deliver results with dynamic, data-driven values based on the context sent to the Search API.

With this improvement, you can delight your customers with an even more personalized and relevant shopping experience.
